Fresh Air Systems for Semi-Commercial Spaces
Astberg energy recovery ventilators for restaurants, banquets, salons, clinics, gyms and offices — fresh air without a plant room or bulky AHU. Supplied and installed across Purvanchal, Bihar, Lucknow, Varanasi and Prayagraj.
Does your restaurant smell like stale food?
Semi-commercial solutions without the need to install bulky AHUs — meet the new ERVs by Astberg.
Every restaurant owner knows the moment: a guest walks in at noon and the room still carries yesterday’s tadka, oil and stale air. Sealed, air-conditioned dining rooms make it worse — the AC recirculates the same air all day and never brings any new air in.
The obvious fix is to open a window or run an exhaust fan — and that is exactly why nobody does it. You throw your cooling straight out with the smell, the room goes warm and humid inside ten minutes, and the electricity bill climbs.
An ERV solves both at once. It pushes stale air out and pulls filtered fresh air in continuously — but the outgoing air passes its coolness to the incoming air through a heat exchanger first. Astberg rate their units at 78–84% energy recovery, so you get the full air change and keep most of the cooling you already paid for. The smell leaves, the temperature stays.
And there is no AHU to find room for. Until now, fresh air at this scale meant an air handling unit — a plant room, a deck, heavy ducting and civil work most restaurants and banquets simply do not have space or shutdown time for. These ERVs tuck above a false ceiling, or in the case of the standing model, sit on the floor against a wall. Same fresh air, none of the building work.
Smell goes — so does your cooling
Every cubic metre thrown out has to be replaced by hot outside air that your AC then has to cool from scratch. Cheap to buy, expensive to run.
Cool, but the same air all day
A recirculating system cools the air it already has. Smell, CO&sub2; and stale air just build up through service — which is why the room feels heavy by evening.
Both — fresh air and the cooling kept
Continuous air change with 78–84% of the cooling energy recovered on the way out, plus HEPA, carbon and dust filtration coming in — from a unit that fits above the ceiling, not a plant room.

Tell us your covers and floor area. We work out the airflow, where the ducting runs, and what it costs to run per month — before you commit to anything.
What size does your space need?
Restaurants and banquets are sized on people, not just floor area — a packed hall needs far more fresh air than an empty one of the same size. These are working figures at roughly 25 m³/h per person.
| Airflow | Guests at full house | Typical space |
|---|---|---|
| 500 CMH | ~20 | Salon, clinic, small café |
| 1000 CMH | ~40 | Small restaurant, office floor |
| 1300–1500 CMH | ~50–60 | Mid-size restaurant |
| 2000 CMH | ~80 | Large restaurant, small banquet |
| 4000 CMH | ~160 | Banquet hall |
| 5000–6000 CMH | ~200–240 | Large banquet, marriage hall |
Guide figures only. Kitchen load, ceiling height, duct run and how long the room stays full all change the answer — we confirm it on a site visit.
Astberg ERV range
All units bring fresh air in and stale air out simultaneously, through HEPA, activated carbon and dust filtration, with an enthalpy heat exchanger recovering the cooling energy. Units above 2000 CMH run on 380 V three-phase.
